Momorangi Conservation Project
The Trust has joined forces with the Department of Conservation and Kathmandu Ltd to establish a new conservation project at Momorangi Bay, in Queen Charlotte Sound.
The project aims to enhance the natural environment at DOC's popular Momorangi Campground, and enable campers to enjoy conservation activities during their stay.
While at Momorangi, visitors will be able to learn about the conservation challenges in the Sounds, and assist with weeding, planting, maintaining traps to catch pests and other activities that help in restoring native forest behind the campground and caring for three streams that run through it.
The project has huge potential as a way to engage with the community in learning about the Marlborough Sounds environment, and the things we can all do to protect and restore it in the future. To learn more, please visit Experience Momorangi.
